Good evening!
The mascot for the AFL’s 19th club, Tasmania FC, was revealed today
It’s a Tasmanian devil named Rum’un, which is apparently Tasmanian slang for "an odd or eccentric person; a scallywag, or someone cheeky.” It’s set to roam the sidelines when the club joins the league in 2028.
Rum’un, designed in partnership with Tasmania’s Terrapin Puppet Theatre and with schoolchildren, and made from recycled school uniforms, has received a mixed response.
What do you think? Is it a hit or a miss?

The number of triple-doubles that NBA star Russell Westbrook has recorded with at least 15 assists. The Denver Nuggets point guard is just one short of tying the record held by hall-of-famer Oscar Robertson. Westbrook’s stat line came in the Nuggets 114-105 upset of the Golden State Warriors. A triple-double is recording double digits in at least three stat categories, the most common being points, assists, and rebounds.

“There’s multiple, multiple, multiple death threats that come my way daily still. In the world of football, being an openly gay player is a very toxic place. It’s something not everyone would be able to handle and go through."

While in space, astronauts must stay physically active because their muscles and bones can become significantly weaker without the resistance of gravity. A typical workout routine for astronauts includes at least two hours of exercise six days a week. Astronauts train with equipment such as resistance bands and specially designed treadmills and spin bikes.

In case you missed it…
🏉 At the AFL Tribunal on Tuesday night, suspensions for North Melbourne’s Jackson Archer, Richmond’s Tom Lynch and Hawthorn’s Jack Scrimshaw were all upheld. Archer and Scrimshaw will both miss three matches, while Lynch will miss one. Archer’s suspension has been much debated. Western Bulldogs defender Luke Cleary was knocked unconscious after colliding with Archer’s knee, an incident many past and current players have called an “accident”.
⚽ The first leg of the Women’s Champions League quarter-finals saw Real Madrid and Lyon both claim victories. Real Madrid beat Arsenal 2-0 at its men’s reserves pitch, Estadio Alfredo di Stéfano. The pitch quickly deteriorated, with Arsenal legend Ian Wright describing the conditions of the playing surface as “a disgrace”. Meanwhile, French club Lyon beat German club Bayern Munich 2-0. There are two more quarterfinal first legs to come tomorrow, with Manchester City playing Chelsea, and Wolfsburg taking on Barcelona.

Tyler Harvey will need to step up for the Hawks (Getty)
Can Melbourne United win a 7th NBL title tonight?
Melbourne United lead the NBL Finals 2-1 and are just one win away from claiming the 2025 NBL title against the Illawarra Hawks. Tonight’s match, the fourth in the best-of-five series, will be played in Melbourne at John Cain Arena.
Storylines
While you might think Melbourne United would have the home advantage tonight, the side has lost its last six games at John Cain Arena. Plus, all three Finals games have been won by the away team.
In Game Three, Melbourne, led by veteran Matthew Dellavedova, demonstrated composure to come from behind and win 83-77. Another United player to watch will be Jack White, who stepped up in Game Three with 20 points.
As for the Hawks, they will need American guard Tyler Harvey to step up. Harvey was instrumental in the Hawks's Game Two victory, scoring 24 points, but was shut down and only able to contribute seven points in last week’s loss.
After losing last year’s Finals to the Tasmanian JackJumpers, victory tonight for United will secure the club’s seventh NBL title. Meanwhile, the Hawks are playing to keep their hopes of a second NBL title alive. The club’s first came in 2001 when they were called the Wollongong Hawks.
How to watch
Tonight’s match will begin at 7:30pm (AEDT). You can watch the NBL Finals on Channel 10, Foxtel, and Kayo.

The tennis player’s union founded by Novak Djokovic is sueing the sport’s governing bodies
The Professional Tennis Players’ Association (PTPA) has filed a lawsuit against the sport’s governing bodies.
The players’ union was co-founded by Novak Djokovic and Canadian tennis player Vasek Pospisil.
It’s seeking better pay and conditions for players.
The lawsuit
The PTPA is seeking better rights for professional tennis players in a lawsuit against the ATP Tour, WTA Tour, the International Tennis Federation and the International Tennis Integrity Agency.
The complaint was filed in a New York court with more than a dozen players, including Nick Kyrgios, also listed as plaintiffs in the case.
The PTPA said that before filing the complaint, it met with 250 players across the men’s and women’s tours and received overwhelming feedback that the players have a desire for reform.
The lawsuit has accused the governing bodies of insufficient remuneration for players, imposing a ranking system that forces them to compete in particular tournaments, setting an unsustainable schedule, and disrupting players’ privacy with random drug testing.
PTPA CEO Ahmad Nassar said: "Tennis is broken. Behind the glamorous veneer that the defendants promote, players are trapped in an unfair system that exploits their talent, suppresses their earnings and jeopardises their health and safety.”
ATP and WTA response
The ATP, the governing body for men’s tennis, has disputed the claims. It said in a statement that it would “vigorously defend” its position. The statement cited an increase in player compensation, annual financial audits, and providing guaranteed income to the top 250 singles players as examples of the ATP’s commitment to financial security.
The statement also said: “While ATP has remained focused on delivering reforms that benefit players at multiple levels, the PTPA has consistently chosen division and distraction through misinformation over progress.”
The WTA has also said it will defend its position, and provided examples of its commitment to progress on behalf of its players. Its statement read: “In recent years we have committed to a $400 million increase in player compensation, set out a pathway to pay equality at our major WTA events, secured new investment to fuel the long-term growth of the sport, and launched the first comprehensive maternity benefits for independent, self-employed athletes in the history of women’s sports.”
What they said
PTPA co-founder Popisil said: "Beyond just the economics, we see… player welfare is completely disregarded in everything, from the tour schedule to anti-competitive practices, to abusing our rights around name, image, likeness".
