2,461 Czech swimmers have set a new world record for the most to participate in a polar bear swim.
All of the participants were required to be at least waist-deep in the water, which was 3.5°C, for at least one minute.
For a swim to be recognised as a polar bear swim, the water must be a maximum of 10°C.
Event organiser David Vencl said: “Czechs are a nation of polar swimmers”.

The AFL has postponed two Opening Round matches that were set to be played in Queensland, as Tropical Cyclone Alfred is expected to make landfall at the end of the week. Matches between the Brisbane Lions and Geelong Cats and the Gold Coast Suns and Essendon will both be rescheduled. Brisbane Lions coach Chris Fagan told reporters on Tuesday: "It's just a game of football. The safety of family and friends and staff and fans is the priority, that is why common sense has to prevail.” Several sporting events have already been cancelled, including the 2025 Australian WPGA Golf Championship and the Queensland Surf Life Saving Championships.

ICC Champions Trophy: Australia play India in semi-final tonight
Australia play India tonight in the semi-final of the Champions Trophy. It’s the first time the two sides have met in the competition since 2006.
Context
Australia comes into tonight’s match having only played one full game at the tournament so far. That game was against England, and the Aussies showed some strong batting form to chase down their opponents’ total of 351 and set an ICC Champions Trophy innings record of 356 runs. Australia’s matches against South Africa and Afghanistan were abandoned due to rain.
Meanwhile, India won all three of its group-stage matches against Bangladesh, Pakistan, and New Zealand. With Australia missing its three central pace bowlers (Mitchell Starc, Josh Hazlewood, and Pat Cummins), India is the favourite to win this match.
The winner of tonight’s semi-final will play against the winner of tomorrow’s match between South Africa and New Zealand in the final.
Dubai International Cricket Stadium
Despite the tournament being hosted by Pakistan, tonight’s match will be played at Dubai International Cricket Stadium. This is because India has refused to play any of their matches in Pakistan due to geopolitical tensions.
How to watch
You can watch the ICC Champions Trophy on Amazon Prime. Tonight’s match starts at 8:00pm.

WADA to expand Intelligence and Investigations Offensive into Asia and Oceania
The World Anti-Doping Agency is expanding a specialised department titled the Intelligence and Investigations (I&I) Offensive to include Asia and Oceania. The expansion follows the success of the program in Europe since 2022.
European project
Since the initiation of the project in Europe in 2022, the I&I unit of WADA has worked with local law enforcement to crack down on the distribution of illicit performance-enhancing drugs (PEDs). These operations have led to the seizure of 25 tonnes ( of PEDs and the shutdown of 25 illegal laboratories.
WADA is hoping the program will have a similar impact in Oceania and Asia. Director Günter Younger told Reuters that the majority of PEDs seized by the European operations were going to be shipped to the U.S.
What they said:
Younger told Reuters: “[Authorities] prevented more than 500 million doses of PEDs coming on the global market, which is really significant. So this is where our management decided, wow, that's a good project, we want to continue. Now we are hoping to have the same impact, perhaps on a different scale, in Asia and Oceania."
Sport Integrity Australia CEO Dr. Sarah Benson, said: “[We are] proud to be partnering with WADA on this important initiative.”
Future
WADA intends to continue to expand this program to the Americas and Africa before 2030. WADA’s relationship with the U.S. is currently under strain, after a federal investigation into the anti-doping organisation about the alleged mishandling of a case involving 23 Chinese national team swimmers. The U.S. also withheld funding from WADA in protest of its handling of the case.
