Good evening!
Ok, the results are in from yesterday’s poll: ‘Is dancing a sport?’
56% said ‘Yes’
32% said ‘No’
12% said ‘It depends..obviously’
This was my favourite answer: The definition of a sport is "An activity involving physical exertion and skill in which an individual or team competes against another or others for entertainment." While I agree that getting up on the dance floor at a wedding doesn't fit the definition, neither does running to catch the bus. And, yet, running is considered a sport.
Thanks for your responses!

The number of runs that South Africa’s Test cricket team beat India by in the second and final Test of the series between the two sides. The result was India’s biggest-ever Test defeat by runs. South Africa’s victory not only saw them claim a 2-0 series sweep but also their first series win on Indian soil since 2000.

The most own goals ever scored in a single football match is 149. In 2002, Madagascan club Stade Olympique L’Emyrne deliberately scored repeated own goals in protest against refereeing decisions, handing rivals AS Adema a 149-0 win. It remains the highest-scoring match in football history.

Newey, who arrived in March after leaving Red Bull, has been guiding the technical program and is now formally in charge as the team prepares for new engine regulations and its works partnership with Honda. Newey’s record of 12 drivers’ and 13 constructors’ titles has been seen as the driving force behind the decision.

🏏 The Melbourne Stars have jumped into second place on the WBBL ladder after a 37-run win over the top-of-the-table Hobart Hurricanes. Amy Jones hit 59 from 40 balls and Danielle Gibson added 39 to lift the Stars to 6-151, before Marizanne Kapp ripped through the Hurricanes with two early wickets. Sophie Day then claimed 4-17 and Annabel Sutherland took two as Hobart were bowled out for 114. The result hands the Stars their third straight win and leaves the Hurricanes at risk of losing first place ahead of Saturday’s Melbourne derby.

UEFA Champions League: Liverpool’s slide continues as Arsenal go to top of table
Liverpool’s Champions League campaign has plunged deeper into crisis with a 4-1 loss to PSV Eindhoven at Anfield, marking their third straight defeat by three or more goals for the first time since 1953.
The Champions League is Europe’s premier club football competition featuring the top teams from across the continent.
Here’s what to know.
Liverpool losing winning touch
The reigning Premier League champions have now lost nine of their past 12 matches, with errors again proving costly. Liverpool’s Dominik Szoboszlai briefly levelled the score at 1-1, but PSV capitalised on defensive mistakes to pull away.
The result increases pressure on manager Arne Slot, whose side were celebrating a league title only months ago.
Other results
Elsewhere, Real Madrid’s Kylian Mbappé produced one of the fastest hat-tricks in Champions League history, scoring three times in just under seven minutes in Real Madrid’s 4-3 win over Greek club Olympiakos. The French star added a fourth in the second half and now leads the competition with nine goals.
Premier League leaders Arsenal also made a statement, beating Bayern Munich 3-1 at home to stay perfect in the group stage. Second-half goals from Noni Madueke and Gabriel Martinelli sealed the victory, lifting Arsenal to the top of the Champions League table.

Amdavad will host the 2030 Commonwealth Games (Getty)
India wins 2030 Commonwealth Games bid as organisers look to ‘new golden era’
India will host the centenary edition of the Commonwealth Games in 2030, with the city of Amdavad officially confirmed as the next host after a unanimous vote in Glasgow.
The decision marks a major moment for the event and for India, which last staged the Games in Delhi in 2010.
Here’s what to know.
Amdavad wins bid
Amdavad, also known as Ahmedabad, was recommended by unanimous vote ahead of Abuja in Nigeria. The Indian city, located in the country’s north-west, positioned its bid as a chance to help shape the next century of the Commonwealth Games.
Dr PT Usha, President of the Commonwealth Games Association of India, said: “The 2030 Games will not only celebrate a hundred years of the Commonwealth Movement but also lay the foundation for the next century.”
2030 program
The 2030 program will feature between 15 and 17 sports, more than the 10 scheduled for next year’s streamlined Glasgow event, but fewer than the 19 included at Birmingham 2022.
Athletics, swimming, bowls, table tennis and weightlifting are confirmed for both the Games and the Para-Games. Artistic gymnastics, netball, and boxing are also locked in.
Amdavad will also be allowed to propose up to two sports.
74 countries are classified as Commonwealth member nations. Australia topped the medal table at the last event in Birmingham 2022 and has hosted the Games a total of five times.
India’s national agenda
India’s bid is tied closely to a larger national agenda. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has outlined a plan for India to become a developed nation by 2047, and plans are in place for a bid to host the 2036 summer Olympics and Paralympics.
The Narendra Modi Stadium, with a capacity of 132,000, will host the opening and closing ceremonies.
‘A new golden era’
Amdavad’s confirmation comes after a turbulent decade for the Commonwealth Games, with Victoria (Australia) withdrawing from 2026 and Durban (South Africa) from 2022.
Glasgow stepped in to host next year’s edition and introduced a reduced model with 10 sports to keep the event viable. Commonwealth Sport president Dr Donald Rukare said Amdavad’s selection is “the start of a new golden era”.
