Good afternoon.

Anyone in the market for a football team?

Just 10 days after winning the Super Bowl, the Seattle Seahawks have officially been put up for sale.

The decision has been made by the estate of late owner and Microsoft co-founder Paul G. Allen, who bought the franchise for $194 million in 1997.

If you are in fact looking to buy, Forbes now values the Seahawks at
$US6.7 billion ($AU9.5 billion).

Milano Cortina ‘26: Tonight’s top moments

Thursday 19 February (all times in AEDT)

7:50pm, Ski Mountaineering: Sprint (Women's and Men's) 🇦🇺 🏅
Two Aussies will compete in the sprint heats for ski mountaineering, making its Olympic debut at Milano Cortina 2026. Lara Hamilton will race in the women's event at 7:50pm, followed by Phillip Bellingham in the men's event at 8:30pm. Athletes alternate between skiing and running on foot in this fast-paced mountain discipline. The women’s final is at 11:55pm, and the men’s final will follow at 12:15am.

Friday 20 February (all times in AEDT)

12:40am, Ice Hockey: Women's Bronze Medal Game 🏅
Switzerland faces Sweden for the bronze medal in women's ice hockey. Both teams will be looking to cap their Olympic campaigns with a podium finish.

2:30am, Speed Skating: Men's 1500m 🏅
The men's 1500m speed skating final sees athletes complete nearly four laps of the 400-metre oval track in this middle-distance event. The Netherlands’ Kjeld Nuis is the reigning Olympic champion. In the final race of his career, he will look to hold off 21-year-old American Jordan Stolz, who has already picked up gold in the 500m and the 1000m at this Games.

5am, Figure Skating: Women's Single Skating (Free Skating) 🏅
The women's free skate is the second part of the women’s figure skating event and will determine the Olympic champion. After Tuesday’s short program, skaters perform their long program featuring jumps, spins, and artistic elements set to music. Japan’s Ami Nakai is leading.

5:10am, Ice Hockey: Women's Gold Medal Game 🏅
Since women’s ice hockey debuted at the Winter Olympics in 1998, the U.S. and Canada have met in the final every time except 2006 (when Canada beat this year’s bronze medal hopefuls Sweden). Canada has won four of their matchups, and the U.S. have won twice. The U.S. look to be the favourites for this one after a dominant 5-0 performance against Sweden, but there’s no telling what will happen with a gold medal on the line.

5:30am, Freestyle Skiing: Women's Freeski Halfpipe Qualification 🇦🇺
Australia’s youngest athlete competing at Milano Cortina, 16-year-old Indra Brown, will compete in the qualification runs for women's freeski halfpipe. After winning World Cup gold and X Games silver in this event earlier this year, Brown has a strong chance of at least making the final.

Milano Cortina ‘26: The headlines

In case you missed it…

Madi Hoffman finished 23rd in women’s slalom on Olympic debut, Australia’s best result in the event since Zali Steggall’s 1998 bronze. Sitting 26th after run one, the 25-year-old produced the 21st-fastest second run to climb three places in Cortina. American ski great Mikaela Shiffrin won gold ahead of Switzerland’s Camille Rast and Sweden’s Anna Swenn Larsson. Fellow Australian Phoebe Heaydon was ruled out of contention after recording a first-run DNF.

🎿 Lars Young Vik and Hugo Hinckfuss made history by becoming Australia’s first Olympic Team Sprint finalists in cross-country skiing, qualifying ninth before finishing 14th in the final in Val di Fiemme. In the women’s event, Rosie Fordham and Phoebe Cridland placed 18th in the heats, missing out on the final. Norway’s Johannes Høsflot Klæbo, alongside Einar Hedegart, claimed his fifth gold medal of the Games in the men’s final. The 29-year-old is just the second athlete, after swimming legend Michael Phelps, to win 10 Olympic gold medals. Phelps won 23.

🏂 Sixteen-year-old Sydney schoolgirl Ally Hickman finished seventh in the women’s snowboard slopestyle final on Olympic debut. She sat fourth after a 67.70 opening run but fell heavily on her second and injured her sternum before bravely returning. Japan’s Mari Fukada won gold ahead of New Zealand’s Zoi Sadowski-Synnott, with Kokomo Murase taking bronze. Hickman was 15th in Big Air earlier in the Games.

Danielle Scott ends long wait for Olympic glory with silver in women’s aerials

Danielle Scott’s long wait is over. The 35-year-old claimed silver in the women’s aerials in Livigno, delivering Australia’s sixth medal of the Milano Cortina Games and the nation’s first Olympic aerials medal since 2014. It came at her fourth Games after finishing ninth, 12th and 10th previously.

What happened

Scott sealed a place in the super final with a personal-best 117.19 for her back triple-full, qualifying best for the top-six shootout in a competition compressed into one day due to weather.

She then posted 102.17 in the super final, enough to secure silver behind China’s Xu Mengtao (112.90), with China’s Kong Fanyu taking bronze. Scott had earlier qualified second with a 99.59 in the morning session.

The medal came with sacrifice. After a difficult World Cup season, Scott told her family not to travel, saying she needed space to manage the pressure. Only her husband, Clark, was there as tears flowed following the event.

Long road to silver

Scott was inspired to pursue aerial skiing by Alisa Camplin’s gold-medal-winning performance at the 2002 Salt Lake City Olympics, exactly 24 years earlier. She has endured injuries, near-retirement and years of unfinished business.

She said: “I just put one foot in front of the other… I wasn’t prepared to walk away heartbroken again.”

Victoria lost the rights to the race after refusing to relocate the race to Albert Park in Melbourne.
