That’s the nickname Australian basketball star Dyson Daniels has garnered in the NBA playing for the Atlanta Hawks.
With 14 games to go this season, Daniels has recorded 191 steals and leads the league by a long way. Second in the league is MVP candidate Shai Gilgeous-Alexander with 117 steals.
Also, thanks to all of you who filled out yesterday’s survey. I have linked it below again just to encourage those who didn’t have time yesterday to have a go. Your feedback is gold!

WNBL Christy Collier-Hill said: “The level of interest in the WNBL is at an all-time high. There has never been any doubt about the world-class talent on the court - both Australian and international - so it’s incredibly rewarding to see more and more people engaging with the league.”

⛳ Rory McIlroy won his second Player’s Championship title, easily beating world number 57 J.J. Spaun in a three-hole playoff at Florida’s TPC Sawgrass. McIlroy hit a birdie on the first hole of the playoff to take a one-shot lead before Spaun hit his tee shot on the second hole into the water, essentially putting the title out of reach. The victory was McIlroy’s second in the lead-up to next month’s Masters, after he won the Pebble Beach Pro-Am in February. A win at the Masters would complete a career grand slam for McIlroy, who has not won a major since the 2014 PGA Championship.

Boxing likely to go ahead at LA2028 after World Boxing recognised by IOC
International Olympic Committee President Thomas Bach has recommended boxing be included at the LA 2028 Olympics.
It follows years of threats to the sport’s Olympic status after the IOC cut ties with its former governing body, the International Boxing Association (IBA).
Why was boxing removed from the Olympic movement?
The IOC’s relationship with the Russian-led IBA broke down from 2019 to 2023 over concerns about its financial and sporting integrity.
The IOC was forced to directly oversee boxing for the Tokyo and Paris Olympics. It later said boxing’s national federations would have to find a new governing body for the 2028 Games, leaving the sport’s status in doubt.
Last month, World Boxing was recognised by the IOC as an official governing body for the sport. World Boxing was founded in 2023 and has gained the affiliation of 80 national boxing associations since. The development means any athletes part of national boxing federations recognised by World Boxing will be eligible to compete in the Olympics.
What they said
IOC President Thomas Bach said: “After the provisional recognition of World Boxing in February we were in the position to take this decision. I’m very confident the [IOC] will approve it, so that all boxers then have certainty that they can participate in the Olympic Games in LA2028 if their national federation is recognised by World Boxing.”

Coach suspended and players fined following incidents at NRL’s Vegas showcase
The NRL’s Las Vegas showcase was heralded as a major success for the league, opening the 2025 season with two games in the Nevadan city.
Two weeks since the NRL’s opening weekend, two players have been fined and a coach has been suspended and fined for separate incidents in Sin City.
Warriors coach suspended
Richard Agar, an assistant coach for the New Zealand Warriors, was deemed to have breached the NRL’s code of conduct after allegedly grabbing a journalist by the throat at the event in Las Vegas.
Agar confronted the English journalist, who it’s believed he knew from coaching in the UK’s Super League, during half-time of the Warriors’ 30-8 loss to the Canberra Raiders at Allegiant Stadium.
The NRL’s Integrity Unit has proposed that Agar is suspended from his role for the Warriors' next three matches against the Sydney Roosters, Wests Tigers, and Melbourne, fined $10,000, and that he complete education and training concerning the incident.
The coach has five business days to respond to the NRL’s breach notice.
Raiders players let off with fines
In the week before their match against the Warriors, Raiders players Hudson Young and Morgan Smithies were briefly kicked out of a Las Vegas hotel for a scuffle regarding an issue with their rooms. The NRL issued a breach notice but, under its latest collective bargaining agreement with the Rugby League Player’s Association, did not disclose its terms.
AAP has been told the notice proposed a $2,500 suspended fine for each player. The NRL acknowledged that while the two players had “brought the game into disrepute,” they took responsibility and made a public apology.
At the time, Young said: "Things got a bit out of hand... I’m happy to move on. I’m embarrassed for myself, our teammates and the NRL. We've dealt with it internally as a club. [Coach Ricky Stuart has] been on the front foot and everything has been dealt with."
