Good evening!
For sports fans, it can be tough to see the team you support endure a title drought. On the other hand, a drought can make victory even sweeter when it finally comes around.
That was true for South Australian cricket fans over the weekend as the state’s Sheffield Shield side won the competition for the first time in 29 years.
Needing 270 runs to win, South Australia produced the highest successful run chase in a Shield final to beat Queensland by four wickets.
Of course, after a 29-year-wait, it was nothing but jubilation for the side and it’s patient fans when Jason Sangha hit the winning runs.

Aryna Sabalenka claimed her first Miami Open title on Saturday (local time), beating world number four Jessica Pegula in straight sets. After having lost her two most recent finals - Indian Wells and the Australian Open - Sabalenka was not going to let a third opportunity slip away. She said: “I didn’t want to lose in the finals, it sucks.” In the men’s singles,19-year-old Jakub Menšík denied Novak Djokovic a 100th tour-level title, beating the Serbian in the final in straight sets. Both sets went to a tiebreak. Menšík is the first Czech player to win an ATP Masters 1000 event since Tomas Berdych in 2005 (the year Menšík was born).

Min Woo Lee lifts his first PGA Tour trophy (Getty)
Min Woo Lee wins first PGA Tour title at Houston Open
Australian golfer Min Woo Lee has claimed his first tournament victory on the PGA Tour at the Houston Open. In the final round, Lee held off world number one Scottie Scheffler and 2019 U.S. Open champion Gary Woodland to win by just one shot.
What happened
Coming into the final nine holes, Lee was leading the field by five shots. Scheffler and Woodland both recorded very strong final rounds and closed in on Lee’s margin. On the 16th, the Aussie’s tee shot ended up in the water but he recovered to bogey the hole. On the final hole, Lee had a one-shot lead and had to hit par to win his first PGA Tour title. The 26-year-old closed out the tournament by hitting a putt within inches of the hole to almost certainly guarantee victory.
The first men’s golf major of the year, The Masters, begins in 11 days. Scheffler is the defending champion.
What they said
Lee said: "It's unbelievable. I mean, it was a big mental grind and I'm very proud. Looking around, the Houston crowd was awesome obviously, and Scotty was there, and it was nerve-wracking."
Scheffler said: “Just trying to put as much pressure on Min Woo as I could have. I was hoping to be able to do that on the front nine. I wasn’t able to get off to a good enough start.”

Help us grow and go in the draw to win $1000!

Following the event, James said: “Halfpipe is a scary sport, and it gets even scary when conditions are tough, I'm really pumped and felt like I had to be resilient today, so I’m stoked.”
James has now firmly cemented his status as one of Australia’s best medal hopes for the 2026 Winter Olympics in Italy.
