Good evening!
Tonight, the British and Irish Lions play the Queensland Reds at Suncorp Stadium. One of the highlights of the Lions Tour is that it allows players from domestic teams the opportunity to shine against some of the worldβs best.
Take, for example, Luke Morahan in tonightβs fixture 12 years ago.
During the Redsβ 22-12 loss to the touring side, Morahan, who only ever played three Test matches for the Wallabies, scored one of the more stunning individual tries in recent memory.Β
It will also be a chance for incoming Wallabies coach Les Kiss to impress against a high-quality international side. Kick off is at 8:00pm.Β

βIβve worked hard to get here but there is nothing to celebrate. Long road ahead and Iβm more committed to it every single day. I may veer off the path now and again, but being a world champion is my desired ultimate destination.β
YouTuber turned professional boxer Jake Paul after he was elevated to number 14 in the World Boxing Association (WBA) rankings in the cruiserweight division. Paulβs ranking comes after he defeated 38-year-old Julio Cesar Chavez Jr, a former world champion, on Sunday. His professional boxing record now stands at 12 wins and one loss. The top-15 ranking is significant because it means Paul is now eligible to challenge the world title holder, Gilberto 'Zurdo' Ramirez.Β

The Spartathlon is a 246-kilometre ultramarathon race which covers the distance between Athens and Sparta in Greece. The race is based on the route, according to ancient Greek historian Herodotus, that a messenger named Pheidippides took in 490 BC to request help from Sparta before the Battle of Marathon. The modern-day race has been run annually since 1983. The classic 42.2km marathon is inspired by Pheidippidesβ second run, this time from Marathon to Athens to announce his sideβs victory.Β

Fours Aussies through and top seeds fall on day two at Wimbledon
The second day of the opening round at Wimbledon saw a resurgence from the Australian contingent and plenty more upsets. Hereβs what you need to know.Β
Four Aussies win on day two
After an opening day where Jordan Thompson was the only one of eight Australians to win their first-round match, day two saw four Australians advance to the second round.Β
On the menβs side, 11th seed Alex de Minaur cruised past Spainβs Roberto Carballes Baena in straight sets (6-2, 6-2, 7-6), Aleksandar Vukic made the second round for the second year running with a win over Taiwanβs Chun-Hsin Tseng in four sets (6-3, 6-4, 4-6, 7-6), and Rinky Hijikata defeated Belgiumβs David Goffin in straight sets (6-3, 6-1, 6-1).Β
De Minaur has set up a clash with unseeded Frenchman Arthur Cazaux. Vukic faces the daunting task of taking on world number one Jannik Sinner, and Hijikata will play against American 10th seed Ben Shelton.Β
On the womenβs side, 16th seed Daria Kasatkina was the only Australian player to win. After vomiting before the match, Kasatkina overcame her nerves to beat Colombiaβs Emiliana Arango in straight sets (7-5, 6-3).Β
Top seeds continue to falter
Day two also saw some monumental upsets. The American womenβs contingent was dealt a massive blow as second seed Coco Gauff and third seed Jessica Pegula both lost their opening round matches. Gauff is just the third womenβs player to win the French Open and then make a first-round exit at Wimbledon after Justine Henin in 2005 and Francesca Schiavone in 2010. Chinese fifth seed Zheng Qinwen was also upset in the opening round.Β
Alexander Zverevβs pursuit of his first major title will have to wait after the third seed was defeated in a five-set thriller by Frenchman Arthur Rinderknech. Italyβs Lorenzo Musetti was the other top-10 seed on the menβs side to make an early exit after the seventh seed lost to Georgian qualifier Nikoloz Basilashvili in four sets.

The NRLW season launch was on Monday ahead of tomorrow nightβs season-opener (Getty)
The 2025 NRLW season begins tomorrow. Hereβs what you need to know.
The NRLW Season is set to begin tomorrow. The season-opener will see the Cronulla Sharks host the Parramatta Eels at Sharks Stadium in Sydney.Β
2025 Season
The NRLW competition has seen rapid growth, with the competition doubling from six teams in 2022 to 12 teams this year. This season will see two new additions in the New Zealand Warriors and the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs. The Warriors are returning to the competition after a four-year hiatus, while the Bulldogs are making their NRLW debut.Β
Both clubs have done an impressive job of recruiting in the lead-up to this season. The Warriors are being bolstered by Kiwi rugby union talent such as Michaela Brake, a two-time world rugby sevens player of the year and Olympic champion. The Bulldogs will be led by former Cronulla Sharks halfback Tayla Preston.Β
The 2025 season will see 22 players join the competition from a rugby union background.Β
Favourites
The Sydney Roosters were the best team in the competition last year, beating the Sharks 32-28 in a close grand final to win the clubβs second premiership. Both the Roosters and Sharks are expected to be title contenders again this season.Β
The Brisbane Broncos, who have won more titles than any team in the competition (3), are also fielding a strong lineup, which now includes Jillaroos fullback Tamika Upton, who has transferred from the Newcastle Knights.Β
Format
The season format will feature 11 regular-season rounds, allowing each team to play each other once. At the end of the regular season, a three-week finals series will see the top six teams in the competition battle it out for the 2025 NRLW premiership.Β
Growth of the womenβs game
Womenβs rugby league is on the rise in Australia as more professional opportunities become available and the NRLW grows its television and media presence. According to the NRL, Australian rugby league βis on track to pass 50,000 female participants for the first timeβ.
At the season launch on Monday, NRL CEO Andrew Abdo said: βGrowth has to happen at multiple levels. As we see expansion at the elite level it's a chain reaction with more and more people seeing what's possible and signing up to play the game.β
How to watch
You can watch every NRLW game on Channel 9, Foxtel, and Kayo.
